New compact format 3D printer from the famous and renowned brand Prusa Research. The Original Prusa Mini+ maintains the best features, to which we are accustomed, thanks to its predecessors Prusa i3 Mk2 and Original Prusa i3 Mk3S+.
This small 3D printer is designed for new users in 3D printing, it is undoubtedly one of the best (if not the best) purchase option for users who are new to the world of 3D printing, who do not want big headaches, with cumbersome assemblies, and also looking for the finish and ease above all. But in addition, the Prusa MINI is also ideal for companies looking for scale printing, as this new 3D printer allows the construction of printing farms.
Pre-Assembled
The Pre-Assembled version consists of 3 parts to be screwed together, and that’s it! You will save a few hours of assembly.
Prusa Mini Volume
The small one of the Prusa family has printing dimensions of 18 x 18 x 18 cm (7 x 7 x 7 in), more than enough for domestic use, or for the mass creation of small-medium sized pieces.
The 3D Printer, meanwhile, has dimensions of 38 x 38 x 33 cm (15 x 15 x 13 in)
Color LCD Screen
One of the improvements requested by the community is the incorporation of a color screen. The Prusa Mini comes with a 2.8-inch color LCD screen, with 65,000 colors, where you can preview the 3D prints you are going to make, before printing starts. When you enter the USB with the gcode, you will see the preview on the screen and, after a click of the control wheel, you will not have to do anything else.
Materials
With the Prusa Mini you can print almost any material from any brand. It allows to print with PLA Filament, PETG Filaments, ASA, ABS Filament, Flex Filaments. But does not support nylon.
Creating Farms
One of the star features of the Mini version is that it allows the connection of the 3D printer to an RJ45 ethernet port, it also has a port for a Wi-Fi ESP module, to send files to the printer via WiFi or download updates ( future updates will allow the creation of print farms).
Bowden System
Unlike the Mk3s 3D Printer, which comes with a direct drive extruder, the Original Prusa Mini has a Bowden system, with the extruder motor located on the Z axis. It is designed in this way to reduce weight, using a reduction of 3:1 drive gear ratio.
The filament is pushed through a Teflon tube to the hotend. where the 0.4 mm nozzle can reach a temperature of up to 280ºC
Extruder motor
To reduce weight, the motor has been moved to the Z-axis, from where it is pushed through the teflon tube to the hotend.
Partial improvement of the X- and Y-Axis on the Prusa Mini+ model
The smooth rods are no longer clamped with flanges. A new set of sturdy plastic brackets has been designed.
The other significant improvement on the Y-axis of the Prusa mk3s+ is the bolts: the U-bolts that were used to secure the Y-axis bearings have also been changed. In their place is now a new set of metal clips, which are easier to mount and provide slightly better support for the bearings.
Improved SuperPINDA sensor
SuperPINDA is temperature independent, has a much higher quality sensor and better quality components overall, and does not require a thermistor.
Technically, there is still some temperature dependence, but there are no significant levels that affect the measurements.
With SuperPINDA you will always get a perfect first layer!
Controller
It is a 32-bit custom-made “buddy” board, which brings Trinamic 2209 drivers (soon update for farm management).
Assembly
The 3D Printer consists of 3 pieces. The user only must connect the parts and autocalibrate the 3D Printer. This aspect has been designed to reduce the usual complications of users who start in 3D printing. The fact that the printer comes pre-assembled will avoid future problems that may be due to the assembly process of the printer.
Heatbed
Prusa Mini comes with a magnetic and flexible non-textured PEI sheet, so that the prints can be easily removed. The heated base can reach a temperature of up to 100ºC
