Mosquito Magnum Hotend Slice Engineering

The new Hotend Slice Engineering Mosquito Magnum is capable of printing at high speeds New modified version with reinforced heat break and throat and new heatsink prevents damage during installation and repair.

• It has a heat transfer rate as low as 3 W/m*K, which means you can have maximum confidence in the speed of your print, while at the same time maintaining the high resolution benefits achieved with the standard Mosquito® Hotend.
• Capable of printing at over 30 cubic millimetres per second
• With a thermal insulator that protects the fusing zone from cooling zone effects
• The new heatsink has a larger filament path opening, making it easier to install multi-material setups such as the Prusa MMU or Mosaic Palette.
• Compatible with M6 (metric 6) RepRap® style nozzles.
• A multiple extrusion configuration with high-resolution, high-flow, optimised designs can be created without the need to purchase new nozzles or make modifications to the cart.

Other Technical Details

• Mosquito® Magnum is only available for 1.75 mm filament.
• Heat break conducts 85% less heat to the heatsink than a typical threaded heat break
• Steep temperature gradient at the heat break reduces the likelihood of clogging
• Reduced heat transfer eliminates the need for a large heatsink
• Composite construction of the bimetallic heat break™ allows the use of heat transfer optimised materials in each section of the heat break
• Allows the hotend to be mounted with a printed plastic adaptor
• No components are prone to loosening at the mounting points
• Nozzles can be changed with one hand, without gripping the hot block
• In the event of a severe blow, a completely new hotend is not necessary, the parts can be easily exchanged.
• The specially designed high temperature copper alloy in the hot block will not soften at high temperatures. Withstands up to 500 – 550 °C
• Threads in the hot block will not deform at high temperatures, allowing nozzle removal even after several cycles of high temperature heat.
• Nickel plating on the hot block reduces radiant heat loss and prevents wear of the threads
